Shopping Continued

Only when I was trying to plug Elgato Game Capture HD60 S to my computer, I realized it doesn’t have HDMI, even though my monitor has one.

To solve this problem, I first placed an order at Amazon for a DVI to HDMI adapter. A few minutes later I changed my mind and cancelled the order because there won’t be audio through HDMI with adapter. Then, I started researching graphics cards. There are very cheap cards. But reviews said they are no better than integrated one, if not worse. Eventually, I settled with GTX 1050 TI. My 300W PSU can’t afford better one. So does my wallet.

I placed an order at Newegg. Its price was lower than Amazon’s and I had gift card to burn. I’m so excited since I haven’t owned a dedicated graphics card for more than a decade.

Site Not Found

My website http://www.wanglianghome.org/ has been showing Site Not Found error message intermittently for days.

For once, I redirected my website to a sub-domain but changed it back later and installed wordpress there. The problem only appears after I deleted that sub-domain, though I’m not sure it’s correlation or causation. I thought it needs time for DNS propagation. But three days later, the issue never went away. I tried to flush Google DNS but it didn’t help. I also tried to flush DNS at dreamhost but was told it would take several hours. Meanwhile, I submitted a ticket to dreamhost support since I suspect that it’s a configuration issue. For now, I have to be patient even though I’m so frustrated.

Fortunately, I can still write here.
